huggingface_hub v1.0: Five Years of Building the Foundation of Open Machine Learning

huggingface_hub v1.0 marks a mature foundation for open ML, powering over 200k dependent libraries and access to 2M public models, 0.5M datasets, and 1M Spaces. The release introduces a new httpx backend, a redesigned Typer-based hf CLI, and full adoption of hf_xet for transfers, replacing legacy components. Most libraries remain backward compatible, though transformers requires v0.x in v4 and v1.x in v5; a migration guide is provided.
